Stacie Achilles Obituary
December 23, 1953 - May 5, 2025
Stacie L. Achilles, 71, of East Moline, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. Cremation will be directed by the Quad-Cities Cremation Center via Schroeder Mortuary, Silvis, Ill. A celebration of Stacie's life is planned for Thursday, May 22, 2025, to be held at The River House Bar & Grill, 5 to 8 p.m. located in Moline, Ill. Memorials can be directed to Clarissa C Cook Hospice House in her name.
Stacie was born on December 23, 1953, in Galesburg, Ill., the daughter of Donald and Mary Nelson Thompson. She married Jeffrey Achilles on May 6, 1972, in Port Byron, Ill.
She was employed by Union Federal Savings & Loan for 33 years where she held many positions, most recently as a Mortgage Loan Officer and retired in 2018.
One of her passions in life was her love of horses. She enjoyed going horseback riding each weekend wherever she could, from a local trail ride to clear across the country with her horseback riding crew. She would never pass up the chance to ride.
Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She loved playing countless hours of cards and board games with them. She also loved attending as many of their baseball, softball, volleyball and soccer games as possible. She was undoubtedly their biggest fan.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf for their amazing care of our mother.
Those left to carry on her memory include her children, daughter, Amanda (Eric) Tagtmeier, LeClaire, Iowa and son, Matt (Misti) Achilles, Wylie, Texas; grandchildren, Jackson and Kennedy Tagtmeier and Addison, Grace and Payton Achilles; brother, Carey (Erin) Thompson, Silvis, Ill.; sister, Gayla (Paul) Thomas, East Moline, Ill.; several aunts, uncles as well as nieces and nephews.
Stacie was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary Thompson; and her husband, Jeffrey Achilles.
