Thomas H. Ewing passed away 8 January 2023. He died peacefully at the Unity Point hospital in Rock Island surrounded by family.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time. Inurnment will be at Andalusia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Andalusia Volunteer Ambulance.
Thomas was born on January 10, 1940, in Pike, MO, the son of William and Mamie (Myers) Ewing. He worked as a machine operator at Farmall and Red Jacket Pump.
He was from Taylor Ridge Illinois where he lived 36 years in a cabin he built himself. He was an avid hunter and highly skilled carpenter. He enjoyed watching old westerns and going antiquing.
Thomas is survived by his children, Lorie Costello (Steve) Vancouver WA., Thomas Ewing (Colleen) Woodhull IL., Michael Ewing (Shawna) Andalusia IL., Timothy Ewing (Linda) Goose Lake IA., Kelley Jackson (Lynn) Andalusia IL., and James Ewing (Chelsea) Rockford IL; grandsons, Cody, Dominic, Michael, and Thomas; granddaughters, Autumn, Sarah, Samantha, Justine, Mekenna, and Piper; siblings, Marcia (Duane) Koetting and Clay (Lori) Ewing; and special friend, Janet Ortiz. He was proceeded in death by his parents William L. Ewing and Mamie L. Ewing; son, Scott A. Ewing, grandson, Brandon Ewing; sister, DeAnn Johnston and brother, Arthur Ewing.
