Dr. William R. Frieden

MOLINE-Dr. William R. Frieden, 93, of Moline, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.
Private funeral services will be held at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 246, Moline. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Foundation or Friendship Manor.
Bill was born January 16, 1927 in Davenport, the son of Harry and Cornelia (Pedersen) Frieden. He married Arlene Erickson on July 3, 1954 in Moline as they just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Bill served in the U.S Army Air Corp as well as the U.S, Air Force having been stationed in Japan. He retired in 1998 from his dentist practice of 40 years. He was a member of Moline Kiwanis, a 73 year member of American Legion Post 246, Moline, Class of 1945 lunch group, Rock Island District Dental Society and Illinois Dental Society. He enjoyed playing tennis, reading, loved music and listening to the radio.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene; children, Michael (Bridget) Frieden, Davenport, John (Karen) Frieden, Rock Island, Daniel (Kimber) Frieden, Moline; grandsons, Mitchell (Angie), Brady, Peter (Chelsea), Elliott, Christian (Carolyn), Benjamin and Ryan; step grandchildren, Brian and Ellie Miers and brother, John C. (Janet) Frieden, South Bend, IN.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lindgren.

Remember when he was a good looking lifeguard at the Moline pool---later he was our dentist for many years---
