Arthur Lee Moya

1951 - 2024

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, Arthur Lee Moya, a beloved husband, father and papa, peacefully went to be with the Lord, with his family by his side. Arthur was born on January 17, 1951, to Isaias and Emma Moya, of Tucumcari, NM. Arthur met the love of his life, Suzy Moya, and they wed in 1971, and later had two beautiful children- Julee and AJ. He served honorably in the U.S. Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. He also went on to work with mountain bell phone company where he became an expert in his field, and provided service for the community of Tucumcari, NM.
Arthur was an avid outdoorsman, that loved hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed boating and fishing on Conchas Lake. His passion for fishing was so great that he competed in numerous fishing tournaments and went on to win several awards, trophies, and even a bass boat.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Suzy (Karen) Moya. Son-in-law Chris Gries. Grandchildren Bailee Gries, Toree (CJ) Newman, Avery Newman and Connor Newman. Siblings George (Frances) Moya, and Thresa (Dan) Martin. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
Arthur is preceded in death and will be greeted at Heaven's Gates by his children AJ Moya & Julee Moya Gries. His grandchildren Aaron & Joseph Gries. Parents Isaias & Emma Moya. Siblings Stanley, Bobby, Ikey and Frank Moya.
Arthur will be laid to rest with graveside services on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 11:00 am at Tucumcari Memorial Park. Pallbearers are CJ Newman, Victor (Boy) Garcia, Louis Ramirez, Dan Martin, Leonard Naranjo, and Chuck Newman.
The family of Arthur Moya, appreciates all of your prayers, texts, calls and expressions of sympathy. Thank you for the continued prayers during this difficult time. A special thanks to Linda Sims, Monique Smith with Tucumcari Home Health/ Hospice, and Harrington Cancer Center for all of the love and care they provided to Arthur.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Arthur, can made to the AJ Moya Memorial Scholarship Fund (at Wells Fargo Bank) or Tucumcari Home Health and Hospice.
