Dace Lafferty Obituary
Dace was born February 4, 1984, in Oakland, CA. He graduated from San Jon High School in 2002. He was employed by Mitsubishi Power Systems at the Caprock Wind Farm in San Jon as a Wind Turbine Technician. Dace was a people perosn and found great joy in meeting new people and spending time with family and friends. With him, once a friend always a friend. Hobbies included riding his motorcycle and sports of all kinds. He would tell you the most important and rewarding part of his life was his two children, Alexus, age 3 and DJ, age 2.
He is survived by his long time love, Gwen Martinz and his two children Alexus and Dace Jr. of San Jon, NM; his parents, Jim and Debbie Lafferty of Tucumcari; brother, Kalon Lafferty and wife, Julie and their daughter, Addie all of Tucumcari, along with his Granny, Theo Lafferty of Tucumcari; his grandparents, Franklin (Pop) and Betty ( Nana) Flint of San Jon along with many loving friends and family.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Dunn Memorial Chapel on Thursday morning, September 4, 2008, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Fred Caton and Hermond Rayland officiating. Interment will take place in the San Jon Cemetery at San Jon New Mexico.

My Dacer,
As time passes, I find myself reflecting on the moments we shared together as a family. Our children continue to grow and flourish, carrying with them the love and memories you left behind. I often wish you were here to witness their milestones, to guide them, and to envelop them in your warmth. They talk about you with smiles, curious about the person you were and the love you had for them.
Life without you hasn´t been easy, but your presence is felt in the stories I share and the values I instill in our children. You may be physically gone, but your spirit lives on in the laughter, love, and wisdom that we share each day.
We miss you dearly, and while the ache of your absence will never completely fade, we find comfort in knowing that you´re watching over us from above. Your memory is a guiding light, reminding us of the precious moments we had and encouraging us to create new ones in your honor.

I can't get over the fact that Dacer is gone. He was always such a wonderful friend. He was always there to make you smile, no matter what the situation was. Dace was such a friendly, outgoing person. There was never a dull moment when he was around. Our hearts go out to all of the family. Dace will be greatly missed.

I was devistated when I heard the news about Dace. There are so many wonderful memories that I have of my kids with Dace. I can not imagine the loss of a kid and my thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Just know that God will take good care of him until yall can reunite with him. My sincere thoughts will be with everyone. The world has suffered a great loss as Dace loved to make others laugh and smile. What a great legacy he has left.

When I think of Dace, two things come to mind, his smile and how he danced. I knew Dace since we were little kids, he was a great guy, funny, sarcastic, loving, and man he could talk. I am sorry to all the family and friends that are going through this horrible time.
There is no right thing to say, but "Dace, we loved you and miss you dearly." Save me a dance when I get there.

The loss of a coworker normally doesn't affect people too much. But when you work with such a close knit group, you become a family. Dace and I worked side-by-side for a year and a half. Dace and I became the "A-Team" with our maintenances. We shared endless stories with each other. I never realize how close we became until our memories flooded my mind. He was my coworker, friend and "brother". I miss him so much. May God comfort all his loved ones. May Dace's spirit live forever in our thoughts and hearts.

I am so sorry for you loss. Dace was a wonderful person and a great father! To his parents, I know how hard it is to lose a child and nothing will ever be the same. But just remember that you had 24 wonderful years with him and that he is in the best hands ever, in the arms of God!
