MOLINE-Anthony "Tony" J. DeVrieze, 64, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at work.
Private funeral services will be held at this time. Public visitation will be from 3-7p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.
Tony was born on September 18, 1956, in Rock Island, the son of Howard and Katherine (Myers) DeVrieze. He worked at Deere & Co as a machinist. Later he worked for Bohl Machine & Tool Co. Tony was sober for 26 years, through those years he helped many with their own sobriety. He played a major role with the Employee Assistant Program at Deere & Co. He loved music and his stereo, golf, pool, camping, and dancing. Tony was an animal lover. He loved his two dogs, Ringo and Starr, but his favorite thing was being a Grandpa.
Survivors include children, Rachel DeVrieze, Johnson, VT, Jason (Spring Dalton) DeVrieze, Bettendorf, Marissa (Brad) Ross, Milan; grandchildren, Samantha DeVrieze, Amanda DeVrieze, Suzee Pai, David Pai, Nola DeVrieze, Payton DeVrieze, Madeline Ross, Brandon Ross, Brandi Ross; siblings, Jackie Tracy, Bettendorf, Howie (Marti) DeVrieze, AZ, Kerrie (Curt) Hessler, LeClaire, Randy (Lin) DeVrieze, East Moline, Laurie (Eric) Belman, Rock Island, and Chris DeVrieze, Colona; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and niece, Gretchen Kruse.

My sincere condolences to Tony's children, grandchildren, and family. I knew Tony since early in his sobriety. He was a great friend and a great human being. His family meant the world to him. Rest in peace, Tony. You will be greatly missed.
