DAVENPORT-Barbara Jean Zugg, age 89, of Davenport, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Promedica on Utica Ridge, Davenport. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, October 7, 2022 at New Life Baptist Church, Davenport. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries assisted the family with arrangements.
Barbara was born on December 1, 1932, in Ames, IA, to Joseph and Gladys (Farni) Hyler. She was united in marriage to Lyle Zugg on October 30, 1955. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2016.
Barbara worked as a secretary for the University of Iowa, Federal Land Bank, Kaaba Shrine, and lastly as office manager with Manpower. She was a member of the church, and Order of the Eastern Star. Barbara enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
Survivors include a daughter, Vickie (John) Hagen; sons, Steven Zugg, Rik Zugg, and William Zugg; grandchildren, Elizabeth Walker, Jessica Hagen, and Lucas Hagen; great-grandchildren, Vincent, London, Chloe, Emery, and Osyris; a sister, Mary Jo Rhode.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Hyler.
