Charles R. "Charlie" Richardson

November 7, 1948 - March 20, 2026

Charles R. "Charlie" Richardson, 77, of East Moline, IL, passed away Friday March 20, 2026, at Hope Creek Nursing & Rehab, East Moline.

In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned currently. Van Hoe Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Charlie was born on November 7, 1948, in Brownsville, TX to Charles and Ann H. (Royal) Richardson. Most recently, Charlie lived in Elizabeth, IL where he enjoyed a quiet retirement in a community he loved.

Charlie graduated from Davenport (Central) High School in 1964, and attended the University of Dubuque, and the University of Iowa.

Charlie worked in sales of industrial rubber and plastics with his father in the family business, Charles Richardson Company of Davenport, for 25 years.

He was an excellent skier and a certified ski instructor who loved teaching others. He taught at Deer Valley Resort in Utah for several years and for 30 years at Chestnut Mountain Resort in Galena, IL.

Charlie loved being outdoors and worked part-time as a greenskeeper at Woodbine Golf Course during retirement. He also enjoyed golf, cooking, and gardening.

Surviving are his sister, Sarah K. Gordon, and brother-in-law, Joseph G. (Joe) Gordon of Fogelsville, PA; nephews Mark Gordon, of West Chester, PA, and Kevin Gordon, of Hummelstown, PA; and his niece, Elizabeth Demyan, of Bethlehem, PA.

Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles, and his mother, Ann.
