David Hanson Obituary

David Bernard Hanson

September 8, 1960 - May 5, 2025

SUMMERFIELD - David Bernard Hanson passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025. He was 64 years old.

Born on September 8, 1960, in Moline, Illinois, Dave grew up with a strong sense of family, community, and integrity. He attended St. Ambrose College and went on to build a successful and respected career in third-party logistics.

An avid golfer, Dave especially cherished time spent on the course with LaDonna, his beloved companionaffectionately known to him as "Babe"where their love and laughter could be found on every fairway. Dave took pride in the little things: a spotless car, a meticulously cared-for yard, and above all, the people he loved. He had a natural way of making others feel welcomed, valued, and appreciated.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anne Marie Hanson of Moline, Illinois and brother-in-law, David W. Burgoyne of Forest Lake, Minnesota.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 21 years, LaDonna, with whom he shared a beautiful life and a deep love that blended two families into one. He was a proud father to Rachel Solano (Tony), Mallory Chen (Dennis), Brittany Wray (Matt), and Haley Williams (Brad), and a devoted grandfatherlovingly known as "Doo"to Alaina Wray, Connor Williams, Brooks Chen, and Liam and Oona Solano.

He is also survived by his loving siblings: Sara Moore (Bob), Eda Anderson (David), Joe Hanson (Anne), Marna Bugos (John), Amy Burgoyne, and Pieter Hanson (Julie). Through marriage, he also embraced Samantha Barham, JR Barham (Tina), and his dear in-laws, Billy and Judy Sechrist.

Dave's great smile, generous heart, and infectious laugh will remain with us always. His life was full of love, laughter, and meaningful connectionsand his legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
