Donald L Sturms

BLUE GRASS-Donald L Sturms, 88, formerly of Blue Grass, IA. passed away at his home in Arkansas after a brief illness.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will take place, no services are planned. A small gathering will take place at a later date in Blue Grass, IA.
Don was born in Annawan, IL in 1935 to Hilton and Frieda (Whittington) Sturms.
He served in the U.S. Airforce as an Air Traffic Controller which led him to the Control Tower at O'Hare National Airport.
Following his Military service and Control Tower Days, he went on to use his carpentry skills at Ferkel Construction in Rock Island, IL. He then worked as the Project Coordinator for Metromedia until his retirement.
After his retirement he enjoyed fishing (no matter how many times our lines got tangled in the trees), camping and tinkering in his shed.
He was VP of the Rea Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Member of Ozark Ridge Runner RV Club and Family Motor Coach Association.
Survivors include his wife Joyce; children, Duane (Nedra) Isenberg, NY, Sharon (Dave) Jungjohan, Bettendorf, Judith (Mike) Negus, TN, Donna (Rick) Porter, Blue Grass, Michael Chada, IL; Grandchildren, Kevin Butler, TN, Keith Henning, IA, Otto (Anna) Isenberg, NY, Nicole (Marty) Talbot, Blue Grass, Amanda Negus, TX, Kira Isenberg, NY, Austin (Courtney) Porter, Rock Island, Allyson (Nate) Lewis, LeClaire, Dylan Jungjohann, Davenport, Kimberly Negus, TN; 8 Great Grandchildren and one on his way; Joanne Sturms, WI and sister-in-law Millie Sturms, Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, family members, Jerry Sturms, Violet Deitz Litchford, Sally Sturms Grant.
To all those that think of him,
Be happy as he goes out to sea
If others wonder why he's missin'
Just let them know he's gone fishin'
