CAMANCHE-Earlene E. Schultz age 87 of Camanche, formerly of Preston, passed away Friday Jan. 21, 2022 at The Alverno, Clinton. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday Jan. 26th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday Jan. 26th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Earlene was born on May 9, 1934 in rural Jackson County, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Viola (Engel) Oberman. She graduated from Preston High School in 1952. She married Alan Schultz on Oct. 14, 1956 in Preston, IA; he died in 1972. Earlene was a homemaker and worked at International Paper, Clinton as an Inspector. She also worked as a School Aid at Preston Grade School and as a Librarian Aid at Camanche Junior High. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Preston and attended Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton. She was a member of the Preston AMVETS Auxiliary, Preston Red Hats Club, and Preston Senior Citizens of St. John Lutheran Church. She loved NASCAR and spending time with her family.
Earlene is survived by her two daughters, Kathy (Rick) Jepsen of LeClaire, IA and Brenda (Jim) Thomas of Hampton, IL; five grandchildren, Alan, Melissa, Emily, Tyler, and Amanda; five great grandchildren, Gavyn, Clementine, Charlotte, Gracye, and Gabby; her sister, Lois Kunde of Maquoketa; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

I loved Earlene and will miss her very much.. We were neighbors in Camanche and got to be very close. She is dancing with her husband right now and having no pain!
