Edward W. Heber Jr., 85, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, MercyOne Genesis Davenport.
The family will greet friends 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Runge Mortuary. Private burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.rungemortuary.com.
Ed was born May 1, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Edward & Betty (Loper) Heber Sr. Ed served in the United Sates Marine Corps, 1956 to 1959. He was united in marriage to Brenda on November 24, 2006.
Ed served on the Davenport Police Department from 1967 to 1979. He was then director of Security for Davenport Bank & Trust for 10 years, and all during these years worked construction as well, eventually founding Amenity Construction which he owned and operated for the last 30 years.
Ed enjoyed his work and was always busy helping others. In his spare time he enjoyed sports rooting for the Bears, Chiefs, Cubs, and Hawkeyes. His passion was collecting and trading Harley Davidson Motorcycles and old cars. He was proud to say he owned 40 plus motorcycles over the years.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Heber, Davenport; sons, Jacob & Todd (Sheri) Heber, both Davenport; daughters, Debbie (Jesse) Dalton and Melinda (Lewis) Jones, both Davenport; step-daughters: Lindsey (Steven) Robinson and Melissa Jensen, both of Davenport; grandchildren; great- grandchildren; and a sister, Honey Lou Heber.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sadie Bundy.

I am Truly sorry to hear that Ed has passed, I worked with Ed and Rick Parker when I was in MEG undercover. Absolutely some of my best memories of working undercover . He was a great man and mentor to me and many others- on the Job.
