Jaclyn (Jackie) Fitch Phinney

Jaclyn (Jackie) Fitch Phinney, age 94, formerly of Clinton, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Edgewood Senior Living in Blaine, Minnesota.
Jaclyn was born January 3, 1927, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Rod and Ada Swift Fitch. Jackie attended and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1949, where she was a member and Past President of the Delta Gamma Sorority and met her husband Robert (Bob) Phinney after a wink of his eye from across a crowded room. They were married on October 1, 1949. After several moves across the country with Bob's job, they ultimately settled back to Clinton in 1959 where Jackie enjoyed a career with International Paper Company and retired in 1987. Retirement was spent traveling the world and enjoying golf and sunshine in Palm Desert, CA with family and friends. Jackie was an avid bridge player and a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood.
Jackie is survived by her son, Dr. Richard (Dianne) Phinney of Pinehurst, NC; daughter, Robin (Cameron) Turner of Blaine, MN; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Andrew) Villarreal of Dallas, TX and Andrew (Jenna) Phinney of Aurora, IL; great-grandsons, Aidan James and Collin Blair Phinney; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Fitch of Des Moines, IA; and niece and nephew, Karen Fitch, Des Moines and Tom Fitch, Ft. Collins, CO. Jackie also leaves behind many dear friends at the Fountains in Bettendorf, IA, Crestview Senior Living and Edgewood Senior Living in Blaine, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; and Brother Robert Fitch.
A private interment will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery and she will be placed alongside her husband Bob in the Veterans Memorial Wall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Blaine, MN.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at Edgewood Senior Living of Blaine and to the Allina Hospice team for all of their compassionate care.
