In Loving Memory

Janet & Douglas Morrell

All friends and family are welcome to join us in remembering Janet and Douglas Morrell. A joint memorial service will be held on August 9th at Faith Lutheran Church, Eldridge. There will be a reception at 9:30 a.m. prior to the memorial service at 10:00 a.m. The service will be held in the outdoor chapel, weather permitting. A luncheon will follow the service.



Janet Louise (Scott) Morrell passed away on February 28th, 2024, in Portland, Oregon.

Janet was born in Dayton, Ohio to William and Lorene Scott on New Year's Eve in 1946.



Douglas Dyer Morrell passed away on August 28th, 2024, in Portland, Oregon.

Douglas was born in Wadsworth, Ohio to Max and Florence Morrell on December 6th, 1941.



Janet and Douglas were longtime residents of Long Grove, Iowa before moving to Oregon in 2018. They will be deeply missed by their children, Amy (Geoff) Harker and Hannah (Shea Doyle) Morrell; and grandchildren, Samuel Harker and David Harker; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.



Private interments took place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. A joint memorial service was held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Beaverton, Oregon.

Doug was a wonderful, very dedicated Master Gardener volunteer for Scott County Extension. He was the leader for our Hort Clinic for many years and gave such great service to the public. We loved working with him!
