Janice Marie Faeth

Janice Marie Faeth, 73, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2025, leaving her family deeply saddened by their sudden loss. Janice was born in Fort Madison, Iowa, on November 16th to Louis Sheridan and Alberta Sheridan (Polhans). She grew up in Fort Madison and graduated from Aquinas High School. Janice studied Public Administration and Sociology at San Diego State University, graduating in 1974. After college, Janice returned to her hometown and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. She married Jon Faeth on June 5, 1981. They welcomed daughter Shannon in 1987. Janice devoted her life to raising her daughter, providing unwavering love and support.

Janice was known for her kind heart. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and would go out of her way to make others feel welcome. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. At thanksgiving her homemade dressing was always enjoyed by all. She was fun loving and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling and particularly enjoyed trips to San Diego and Ireland.

Janice will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Shannon (Misael) Garcia; grandchildren Oliver Garcia and Ava Garcia; brother Martin (Carolyn) Sheridan; nieces Robyn (Greg) Rosenboom, Rachael Sheridan, Colleen (Stan) Holat, Nadine Sims; nephews Kent (Pam) Schmitz, Brian Schmitz; and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Alberta Sheridan; husband Jon Faeth; brother Michael Sheridan; sister Sue Ann Schmitz; sister-in-law Barbara Sheridan; brother-in-law Bob Schmitz; and niece Kimberly Sanderson.

At Janice's request, there will be no services. Donations in her memory can be made to The Humane Society of Scott County.
