DAVENPORT-Marilyn J. Cassatt, 81, of Davenport, Iowa; passed away on October 2, 2022 at the Davenport Lutheran Home with her loving family by her side. Funeral service to honor Marilyn's life will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 12pm; visitation will be before the service starting at 10am. Memorials in Marilyn's name may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Association, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to Wounded Warriors Program.
Marilyn was born on November 6, 1940 to Leo and Mabel Jipp in Davenport, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Joe Cassatt on November 4, 1978. Marilyn worked as a claim officer for the State of Iowa for 30 years before she retired. She loved going out to eat with her West End high school girls monthly. Marilyn was a strong family woman and worshipped her children and grandchildren. She encouraged other children by donating to the scholarship fund for the class of 1959 – Davenport High School. Marilyn was a lover of all animals but her dogs and ducks held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her husband Joe, children Mickey Arnold, Shelly (Matt) Heisler, Shawn (Kara) Cassatt; grandchildren: Chelsea "Frog" Arnold, Chace "Weedhopper" Heisler, Haley Derr, Kaitlyn Cassatt, Konnar Heisler, and Kinley Heisler; and great-grandchildren: Peyton Mott, Weston Heisler, and Wyatt Heisler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Brother Leo Jipp, sister Annabelle Baker, step-daughter Jodi Numann, nephew Mark Baker and her toy poodles Molly and Shammy.

I was so shocked to hear of Marilyns passing. I´m saddened for the family loss. Knowing her the short stay at DLH was a blessing to know her as she offered my mom help with the babies. One sweet soul & a book of knowledge, she was! May she Rest In Peace.
