Michael L. "Mike" Farrell
February 25, 1943 - October 22, 2023
A funeral service and Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Michael L. "Mike" Farrell, 80, of Davenport, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Delmar, IA. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials may be made to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) or Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
Mr. Farrell passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Harmony Utica Ridge, Davenport.
Michael Lawrence Farrell was born February 25, 1943, in Maquoketa, a son of James A. "Tad" and Marie Margaret (nee Foster) Farrell. He was united in marriage to Anne Blean on December 6, 1969, in Erie, IL. They later divorced.
Mike graduated from Delmar High School, class of 1961, and then earned his bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering from Iowa State University. Following graduation, he worked briefly for Long Manufacturing and then Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric for twenty-five years.
He enjoyed hunting, bird watching, his rose garden, and spending time with his family.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Jennifer (Ray) Klein of Ames, IA, Julia (Michael) Johnson of Minnetonka, MN, Tim (Sarah) Farrell of Inver Grove Heights, MN; grandchildren: Ben Klein, Katherine Klein, Abby Farrell, Sophie Farrell, Colin Johnson, Noah Johnson; siblings, Mary (Ed) Noel of Wheatland, IA, Gerry Farrell of Delmar, Judy Farrell of Marion, IA; and sister-in-law, LuAnn Farrell of Bryant, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Kenneth, Donald, and Patrick Farrell.
