Rev. Michael E. Vokt, 63, a resident of Bettendorf, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at UnityPoint Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport. The funeral service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at the church's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/trinitydavenportia. Seating will be limited at the church. Please wear a facemask and practice social distancing. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit, Michigan, Camp Arcadia in Michigan, or Lutheran Family Services of Iowa.
Pastor Vokt was born July 29, 1957 in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Robert and Jean (Cron) Vokt. He married Jill Evola, July 6, 1985 in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan.
Pastor Vokt graduated with a Master's in Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He served Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport for 35 years as associate pastor and senior pastor beginning in 1986.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed basketball, golf, and movies. Pastor Vokt enjoyed family vacations to Camp Arcadia in Michigan, and spending time with his close friends and family. Above all else, he loved his church.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jill; children, Kristen (fiancé, Kyle Dolan) Vokt of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Peter Vokt of Bettendorf; siblings, Pam (Luke) Lucas of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, and Roger (Angie) Vokt of Cedar Park, Texas; brother-in-law, Mark (Ronda) Evola; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Mike), Valerie, Ashlyn, Ryland, Jenna, and Dan (Kim).
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pastor Vokt was a constant presence for me and my children while we were at Trinity. A help during some difficult times and always willing to help and listen. Grateful for his witness.
