Robert "Bob" Paper
January 2, 1941 - March 3, 2024
Robert "Bob" Paper, 83, of Davenport, IA, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Harmony at Utica Ridge. Friends are invited to come and share memories with his family on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00p.m. at Weerts Funeral Home. Memorials in Bob's name may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
Bob was born on January 2, 1941, in Davenport, IA; he was adopted at a young age by Herb and Fern Paper. Bob earned his Master's degree in social work and worked as a Social Worker for 45 years in the Quad Cities. He was an avid enjoyer of music and in his younger years enjoyed playing the drums. Bob was an outdoorsman, he loved to golf and spending time outside. He also enjoyed spending time buried in a good book, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, and Chicago Bears. Bob loved his family and looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory are his four children: Nicki Paper, Scott Paper, Jeff Paper, and Pam McCaughey; step-daughters: Stacey Struck and Kristen Bakken; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Doug; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; former wives: Frances Deniston and Carol Coomer; brothers: Lyle and Ron; and sister, Connie.

Dear Paper family,
I knew Bob through work at Trinity. His was a life of helping people, who he hardly knew, navigate what could be the worst time of their lives. He did it with sincere compassion and skill. He was one of the finest people I have known.
