CLINTON-Scott W. Baldwin, age 46 of Clinton, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Mercy One Hospital following a 3 year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests those attending please wear a mask. Following the service cremation rites will be accorded with burial at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Scott was born on June 1, 1974 in Clinton, the son of Terry and Zettie (Kopp) Baldwin. He graduated from Clinton High School where he played soccer and was a state qualifier in wrestling. He served with the US Navy from 1996-2000; where he received Navy awards Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3), Humanitarian Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and Good Conduct Medal.
Scott was employed at Nestle Purina for over 20 years. He was a fiercely loyal friend who enjoyed working out, riding his Harley, boating, and motor trend shows. He loved his dogs and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Scott is survived by his parents, Terry and Zettie Baldwin of Clinton; 2 sisters, Karie (Mark) Lawrence and Stacey Baldwin both of Clinton and a niece, Natalie Lawrence of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Scott's name be made to Mercy One Cancer Center, Clinton, Iowa. Dear Zettie & Family,
Prayers & blessings in the passing of your son, Scott. Holding all of you in heartfelt memories with your son & brother.
(Zettie, way back we were friends at St. Mary's and I spent time with you at your home. This had to be mid 1950's-ish. I remember your Dad, I think, making soda pop for us.)
