Scott Johnson Obituary

Scott Clay Johnson

March 12, 1963 - March 5, 2025

Scott Clay Johnson, 61, of Bettendorf, IA, a devoted man of faith, who loved Jesus and lived his life guided by Christian values. Born on March 12, 1963, in Moline, Illinois, to the late Ronald and Jackie Johnson, Scott's life was one of dedication, love, and quiet strength.

He grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa, where he attended and graduated from Bettendorf High School. He pursued higher education at Iowa State University, laying the foundation for a successful career in service to his country. Scott worked diligently at the Rock Island Arsenal and later at the Detroit Arsenal.

On October 11, 1986, Scott married the love of his life, Jackie, and together they built a beautiful life over 38 years. Their family was the center of his world, and he was a devoted husband and an exceptional father.

Scott was a proud father to four daughters: Nicole Johnson, Jessica (Randy) Culver, Lauren (Adam) Cunningham, and Samantha (Caleb) Urmy. He instilled in them the values of kindness, hard work, and the importance of family. His love extended to his four grandchildren, Tegan, Ava, Dallyn and Owen, who brought him immense joy. He was a constant source of support and encouragement, always present for their milestones and everyday moments.

He maintained close relationships with his brothers, Craig (Stacy), Troy (Pam), and Eric (Elaine), sharing a lifetime of memories.

Scott found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was the thrill of a bike ride or the excitement of any Iowa State sporting event. He was a man of quiet passions and genuine warmth. Above all, he was the best dad and husband anyone could ask for. He was a steady presence, a gentle guide, and a source of unconditional love.

He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Scott now rests peacefully in heaven, his memory forever cherished in the hearts of those he loved.

So very sad to hear of Scott's passing. He was a gentle, God loving man, who loved his wife and his daughters. Jackie you are in my thoughts and prayers.
He may be gone but he will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him.

I am so sorry to hear of Scott´s passing. My daughter, McKenzie, spent a lot of time at Scott and Jackie´s home in Bettendorf and she admired his sense of humor and loving spirit.
Wishing each of his family members peace.

Scott, you were such an incredible human being. The most intelligent and knowledgeable individual in our organization, yet the most humble, reserved, discreet and quiet person I´ve ever met. You were a great mentor and for over a decade you taught me so much while I was on your team. I will miss you dearly, my friend.
