Stephanie passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf following a courageous 3-year battle with cancer.
Stephanie Ann Wiebler was born March 4, 1981 in Davenport, a daughter of Richard H. and Margaret A. (McGuire) Wiebler. Steph graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1999 and St. Ambrose University in 2005 with a degree in marketing.
She was united in marriage to Jordan T. Gorsh on May 27, 2006 at Grandview Baptist Church, Davenport.
Steph worked for the Army Sustainment Command at the Rock Island Arsenal, and had deep gratitude for the numerous colleagues that donated their vacation time to help her cope with her diagnosis.
Despite the challenges of the last three years, Steph continued to always put others first, especially by reaching out to other cancer fighters that she befriended and bonded with about their shared journeys. She was a sincere listener, and a genuinely caring soul. She loved the little things – hand-written thank you notes, dropping off cookies and flowers for friends, snuggling with a good book and her puppy, Desi, by her side.
Steph was known for lighting up any room she entered and welcoming everyone – whether she knew them or not. Steph loved country music and traveling to concerts with friends. She loved tailgating for Iowa football games, attending the annual Wiebler Women's Wild Weekends, and looked forward to vacations with family and friends to Marco Island. But most of all she loved her children and being a mom; cheering too loudly at Carter's games, pulling out all the stops for Stella and Emery's recitals, and intricately planning the kids' birthday parties and family celebrations.
She drew her strength and determination to continue to fight every day from the unwavering support of her closest friends, affectionately known as "Steph's Tribe." Their love and gratitude will forever be remembered and cherished.
Survivors include her husband Jordan; her children: Carter (11) , Stella (9), and Emery (7) all of Davenport; her parents: Rich and Peg Wiebler, Long Grove; siblings and their spouses: Rich and Jenn Wiebler, Plant City, Florida, Michael Wiebler and Kelly Valentine and Mollie and Karl Petersen all of Davenport; nieces and nephews: Kaalyn, Lillie, Myla, and Wesley Petersen, and Celeste Wiebler; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Gary and Mary Gorsh, Davenport her grandmothers: Doris Wiebler, Davenport and Jeanne McGuire. Bettendorf: a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Brenda and Dave Dexter, Davenport and their children: Madden and Harper and her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Richard Wiebler and Bill McGuire her uncles Tom and Matt Wiebler and aunt Jill McGuire. May they rest in peace.
Steph's family would like to thank her medical care team at the University of Iowa for all of the loving and compassionate care they shared. In particular, Dr. Berg, Dr. Bender, Dr. Chan, Dr. Chandrasekharan and Nurse Janss. Their professionalism and grace is unmatched.

I want you to know that Stephanie is by far one of the sweetest that has been on this earth. She loved life and wanted to live so badly. With a horrid diagnosis, she worked hard to enjoy every minute that she could. Seeing her in the Chemo suite always gave me a lift. Her smile was beautiful. She was so fortunate to have Jordan, parents, family and friends to wrap their arms around her. She truly is in heaven. May you soar with the angels and your flowing blonde hair add to the beauty of heaven, Stephanie. RIP Jan Christensen
