Vivian Loraine Chapman

WILTON-Vivian Loraine Chapman, 91, of Wilton, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Wilton Retirement Community. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Wilton United Methodist Church of Wilton. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Vivian was born on September 24, 1930, the daughter of Cletus and Dorothy (Esbaum) Moore in Tipton, Iowa. She graduated from Davenport High School. Vivian married William "Bill" Chapman on April 1, 1967 in Wilton. Bill died on June 6, 2019.
Vivian was a homemaker, who loved taking care of her family. Vivian also worked for Crescent Macaroni and Cracker Company in Davenport for several years. She later owned and operated C&C Carpet Cleaning in Wilton for twenty-five years and drove dump tuck for Chapman Excavating. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wilton. Vivian was a talented and successful Seamstress and was a member of several sewing clubs. Vivian also enjoyed flower gardening and wintering on Sanibel Island, Florida. Most of all, Vivian loved spending time with her family.
Vivian will be dearly missed by her two children, Susan (Joe) McKillip of Atalissa, Iowa and Gary Gaskey of Moscow, Iowa; one step-daughter, Pam Lodge of Texas; four grandchildren, Jessica (Randy) Hake, Laura (Brandon) Hatcher, Thomas Haulk and Kelsey (Marc) Jacobs; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Owen, Bo, Lee, Jake, Silas, Jace and Isabelle; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; one son, Stephen Gaskey; one great-granddaughter, Leah Keith; and four siblings, Helene Sherwood, Irene Eves, LaVerne Moore and Lois Wulf.
