I've thought of Elizabeth many times, though we'd never met. My husband, Gary, and I are both involved at Carroll, and we were very saddened to learn of her accident. In July, I hiked a number of trails in the Swiss Alps (German-speaking side) and can clearly imagine this kind of thing happening. Know that she was in a beautiful place doing something she loved. As a student and athlete, she is surely missed on campus this fall. Please accept our sincere condolences.

Please accept my condolences to your family on the loss of your loved one. To lose a child, so young and full of life, is a pain of unspeakable depth. May your memories and Jesus words at John 11:32-44 bring your family comfort at the most difficult time.

Memorials in Elizabeth's memory can be sent to the Carroll Adventure and Mountaineering Program (CAMP) in care of Wendy Tonkovich, Carroll College, 1601 North Benton Avenue, Helena, MT 59625. Just make the check payable to CAMP.
We chose the Carroll College adventure program because Elizabeth enjoyed their outings so much. She went on many of their day trips on the weekends, as well as a Thanksgiving trip to Glacier and a spring break trip to Moab, Utah. In addition, Carroll College students and staff have been flooding us with cards, flowers, gifts, and help to support us during this time. They even mailed all Elizabeth's belongings to us at no cost. They loved Elizabeth too.
