Kenneth Atton Obituary
Kenneth Arthur Atton, 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 20, 2015 with his family by his side.
He was born in Medford, Massachusetts on February 15, 1954 living in South Boston most of his life until moving to Texas in 2004. Ken accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in March of 2013 and it changed his life, Sunday was his favorite day of the week, he loved Sagemont Church, his Back To The Future Bible Class taught by Chuck Cummings, and in the last 6 months of his life all he wanted was to one day get well enough to go back, it wasn't to be but he was so thankful to all of his class friends for their love, support, visits and to the Pastoral Care of Sagemont that visited him almost every day. They made being away from home bearable.
Ken truly loved his family and writing poetry. He was an avid sports enthusiast, he loved all his Boston teams. He also loved his fantasy football league he was in with his brother for the past 20 years only retiring this year due to health issues but still wanted to know every week what was going on.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Ginger Atton, his sons, Jason Atton, Lynn, MA; Derick Atton (Liz), Pearland, TX; daughter, Eryn Atton (Cody) Winnipeg, Canada; and Step-son Michael Warren (Terina) Highlands TX, he also has 3 grandchildren, Era Atton, Camille and Lucas Warren. His mother Shirley Bassett of South Boston, MA. Other family members are his sister, Diane Maunus; brothers, Jack, Paul (Laura) Jimmy and Frank. Brother-in-laws Chuck Cummings (Leslie), Bill Cummings (Mary), Tim Cummings (Carlis) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating Ken's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Niday Funeral Home - Beamer Chapel, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston Texas 77089 officiated by Rex Forsyth, Pastorial Care Minister of Sagemont Church.
A special thank to our Pastor John Morgan and Sagemont Church for all the love and care shown us during this time and especially Rex for not only the service today but for the special visits he made and for singing to Ken, which brought him great joy. You enriched our lives.
