Ranetta Fulton Obituary

Ranetta Helen Fulton, age 76 of Glendive, Montana passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive. A coffee social will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Bloom and Vine in Glendive with a Graveside Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 PM at the Richey Cemetery in Richey, Montana with Pastor Ben Baker officiating. A reception will follow from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Yellowstone River Inn in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Ranetta was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, Canada on October 15, 1947 to her parents Robert and Ione (Gilchrist) Kenny. At a young age the family moved back to the United States where they spent a couple of years in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas before settling down in Montana. Ranetta was raised and educated in the Lambert, Montana area where she graduated from Lambert High School with the class of 1965. Following high school, she was united in marriage to Monte Fulton on November 26, 1965 and to this union two children were born. They lived in Massachusetts for a while when Monte was stationed there before they returned to Montana to raise their family. They have resided there ever since. Ranetta will always be remembered for her great attitude and her wonderful smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Judy Thiessen and Sandy Knopp; two brothers, Mike Kenny and Dennis Kenny.

She is survived by her husband, Monte Fulton of Glendive; her daughter, Terri (James) Schaefers of Rapid City, South Dakota; her son, Dennis (Kristi) Fulton of Casper, Wyoming; five grandchildren, Fallyn Page (Brian) of San Antonio, Texas, Brock Patterson (Lacie) of Oakland, Iowa, Riley Patterson of Laramie, Wyoming, Lantz Fulton and Zander Fulton of Casper; two step-grandchildren, Logan Schaefers (Bethany) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Lauren Schaefers of Rapid City; two great granddaughters, Kasyn and Kya Patterson; two sisters, Cozette Hart of Oxnard, California and Sherry (Kenny) Jones of Langford, South Dakota; one brother, Bruce (Della) Kenny of Fort Peck, Montana; one brother-in-law Jim Thiessen of Lambert; one sister-in-law, Jackie (Rod) Senner of Bloomfield, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Ranetta's name.
