Ada Selting Obituary

RAPID CITY - Ada J. Selting, 83, of Rapid City, passed away on Sun., Feb. 18, 2007, at a local nursing home. Ada was born May 4, 1923, at Ree Heights, SD, to Henry and Blanche (Keach) Barnum. She graduated from high school there and married A.F. "Butch" Selting on Oct. 12, 1942. She made her home in Faulkton, Huron, Pierre, and then Rapid City. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed cross stitching, rodeo, racing and baseball. She is survived by her four children, Dennis Selting of Hermosa, Donna Parks of Longmont, CO, Kenneth (Tamera) Selting of Rapid City, Nancy Peck of Pierre; her sister, Mary Swenson of Washington; her brother, Eugene Barnum of Washington; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Brett Selting. Visitation will be at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City on Wed., Feb. 21, 2007, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1:30 p.m., with Fr. Marcin Garbacz officiating. Interment will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Faulkton Cemetery. Friends may sign Ada's guestbook at www.kirkfuneralhome.com.
