Dawn Lynn Jungemann Beltran
August 2, 1962 - December 2, 2024
Dawn Lynn Jungemann Beltran passed away on December 2, 2024, from a battle with ALS peacefully in her home, surrounded by love. Dawn was born August 2, 1962 to Dave and Jan (Schwader) Jungemann in Aurora, Colorado. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1980. Dawn was married in 1981 and had three children, David (42,) married to Andrea (44,) Joelle (39,) married to Chris (43,) and Tessa (33,) married to Colin (32.) She has six grandchildren, Julian (20,) Aaries (18,) DJ (17,) Taurin (17,) Andrew (16), Susan (nine). Dawn was also recognized as a grandmother figure for many children throughout her community.
Dawn was a self-proclaimed jack of all trades and worked many different jobs throughout her life, including daycare, floral design, special education, etc. She has been a beloved employee of Douglas High School for over 20 years, where she touched many lives. Dawn was also an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was involved in many different areas, including teaching Sunday School, leading youth group, volunteering for many church activities, serving on the board, cooking for many different events, etc. Dawn also spent much of her time volunteering in many organizations including drug and alcohol prevention programs with students, coaching bowling, organizing community events, etc.
Dawn loved to bowl, travel and camp, make crafts, take pictures, attend car shows, drive her mustang convertible, and spend time with her grandchildren (both biological and not.) She was lovingly referred to as a 'giver,' as she enjoyed doing kind things for other people and taking care of others. She made an impact on many lives in many different capacities.
Dawn is survived by her parents, Dave and Jan Jungemann, of Box Elder, S.D.; her aunt, Bonnie (Jim) Litterick; her brother, Doug Jungemann, of Spearfish, S.D.; her children, David (Andrea) Beltran, of Sioux Falls, S.D., Joelle (Chris) Archer, of Box Elder, S.D., and Tessa (Colin) Ruiz, of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; her grandchildren, Julian Clementz, of Vermillion, S.D., Aaries Clementz, of Box Elder, S.D., DJ Beltran, of Sioux Falls, S.D., Taurin Clementz, of Box Elder, S.D., Andrew Beltran, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Susan Beltran, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, Dawn has asked for donations to the ALS Association (
www.als.org). These donations can be made in her memory.
Dawn's visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Here memorial service will take place at Zion on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow.
