Jim Dilts Obituary

Jim Dilts

NEWCASTLE, WYO. | Jim Dilts passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Weston County Health Services.

Jim was born Aug. 16, 1951, in Newcastle, where he grew up and raised his daughters. Jim graduated from Newcastle High School and went on to attend the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

In 1973 he took over his father's construction company working in the oil fields in Weston, Crook, Campbell and Niobrara counties. Jim enjoyed golfing, and a good cribbage game. He was also an avid bowler and especially enjoyed the out of town trips. Jim was always the first to lend a helping hand and offer some good natured ribbing. He loved life and those he shared it with.

He is survived by his loving wife, Felicia; daughters, Bridget Dilts (Dave) Reed of Casper, and Tami (VJ) McFarlin, Billie Jo (Adam) McFarlin, and Tanya Marshall (Jared Hespe), all of Newcastle; son, DeVella Martin of Springfield, OR; nine grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters, Thomas (Nadine) Dilts of Billings, MT, Don (Joyce) Dilts and Bob Dilts, all of Newcastle, and Carol (Don) Cool and Veva (Casey) Abbott, all of Gillette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marjorie Dilts; and one daughter, Jamie Schultz.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Pastor John D. Hooper officiating. A social gathering will follow at the Newcastle Country Club.

Black Hills Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been left in charge of the arrangements. Family and friends may leave written condolences at www.blackhillsfuneralhome.com.
