William Flagg Obituary

William "Brad" Flagg

RAPID CITY | William Bradford "Brad" Flagg passed away Friday October 26, 2012, with his family at his side. He was born November 28th, 1940 in Buffalo, South Dakota to Arthur Bradford and Wilma Josephine (Brengle) Flagg. After spending his early childhood in Buffalo, and some time in California, he returned to South Dakota and settled in Rapid City. This is where he met and eventually married his love, Rose Mary Kaiser on December 24, 1963.

He served in the U. S. Navy, along with his brother Dana, during the Vietnam War. He was also a professional barber for a number of years before, during and after his military service.

Brad spent nearly two decades with the Rapid City Fire Department until his retirement in 1987. He was one of four founding members of the Counts of the Cobblestone Car Club in 1957. His love of cars lasted his entire life. Many times, it was hard to keep track of what Brad was driving, as he changed vehicles so often. We are sure that the local dealerships will feel the loss of his passing

Brad's family was his life. He truly treasured the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren Trisha, Travis and Deven.

All who met Brad were touched by his genuine kindness and awesome sense of humor. He would always make you laugh, and leave you with a smile on your face. Many will remember his ability to make an incredible realistic cricket sound.

His is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rose, his daughter Barb (husband Todd) His son Arthur "Buddy" (wife Kelli) his grandchildren Trisha (husband Rick), Travis and Deven. His mother, Wilma Negaard, and his sister Tena Heck.

He was preceded in death by his father Arthur, his step-dad Agner and his brother Dana.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at 10:00 am at Kirk Funeral Home with Fr. Brian Lane offciating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park.

The Family of William Flagg,

My thoughts and prayers are with you in the loss of your loved one. His love for family was very apparent and he was always a joy to visit with at the preschool. I will always remember his smile and the cricket sound he made.
