Carl Catt Obituary

Carl Leon Catt

Carl Leon Catt left this earthly plain to start another journey on December 26, 2022, at his home with his daughter Rebecca, son-in-law Neil and grandson Kaiden. He was born July 30, 1949, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Carl and Ruth Catt. There are not enough words in this world to describe what an amazing man he was. He lived a great life and had some great stories to tell. He was a veteran, serving in the Army, and fought in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. He married only once, to Kathy Cline. They had three children together: James Catt, Rebecca Sampson, and Michael Catt. He was an amazing mechanic, he loved working on cars and especially loved vintage automobiles. He could tell you what year and model every car was just by looking at them. Going to car shows was something that he really enjoyed doing, and he even owned a few older cars in his days. He was a trucker for a few years of his life and loved the open road. He finally settled down in Arizona to take care of his mother Ruth until her passing.

After his mother's death, he moved to Montana with his daughter Rebecca, where he settled in and began his amazing writing career. He wrote under the pen name R. L. McCallum. Since he always had a way with words, and loved a good ghost story, it was no surprise that writing gothic fiction was a great fit for him. He also wrote some wonderful poetry. Up till his death, he had written and published over 24 titles.

Carl loved his coffee, donuts, watching his train videos online and he never turned down an adventure. He is survived by his brother Kenny Catt, daughter Rebecca Sampson, sons James Catt, Michael Catt and grandson Kaiden Sampson. He is preceded in death by his mother Ruth Catt, father Carl Catt, ex-wife Katherine Cline, sister Dorothy Park, brother David Catt and grandson Lucas Sampson.

Service will be held on January 11th at 2pm at the Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton, Montana
