He was the husband of Ann (Collras) DeSantis.
Born in Muhlenberg Township, he was a son of the late Martino and Matilda (Cinelli) DeSantis.
He was a self-employed mushroom grower his entire life, operating MAJ DeSantis Mushroom Co., Ontelaunee Township, retiring in 1997.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.
He was vice president of the St. Marco Society, Temple, where he was also a former baseball team member.
He is also survived by two daughters, Brenda L. wife of John G. Reedy, and Dena M., widow of Dean Boyer, both of Temple.
Other survivors include a brother, Dr. John DeSantis, husband of Denise DeSantis; and a sister, Sylvia, wife of Steven Sharp, both of Temple.
There are also four grandchildren: Amanda, Hayley, Jenna and John A., and a great-granddaughter, Arianna.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. in Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel of St. George. Inurnment will follow in the adjoining mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. in Milkins Funeral Home Inc., 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple.

dear mrs desantis i was very sorry to hear of your husbands passing.i remember one of the hotest days of the year you and mr desatis pulled into tom masano mercedes looking for a new one as your air conditioner had broken on your presant mercedes.i had the pleasure of helping you pick your new one. and it was a pleasure. we joked about me being english but being married to an itailian that made him smile..my wife got to cut his hair a few times and said he was allways a happy nice man to be around. please accept our deepest condolences. jeff and janelle rohrbach

Dear Mrs. DeSantis,
I was very sadden to learn of Muzzy passing this morning. I have so many wonderful memories of him on the golf course, at the St. Marco Club, and at the numerous event I saw him at with my Dad.
