Anthony Eaton Obituary


Anthony David "Tony" Eaton, 35, of Exeter Township, passed away Monday August 14, 2017. Born in Reading, Tony was the son of James I. Eaton of Reading and the late Lois Kunkleman. He is also survived by his maternal Aunt, Jane S. Schmehl, who raised him and with whom he resided.

He was a 1999 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School and graduated from Berks Technical Institute in 2016. Tony is survived by his brothers, Andrew L. Eaton, husband of Michelle P. Eaton, of Temple, Jeffrey P. Eaton, fiancé of Beth Rothenberger, of West Lafayette, Indiana, and Jason S. Fried, husband of Angela Fried, of Pottstown. Tony is also survived by his niece and God-daughter, Jaela Eaton; niece, Eva Lois Eaton and nephew Andrew Eaton Jr. He is also survived by extended family and friends.

Tony was loved by everyone that he met, his smile could brighten up a room. He loved to read and read and read some more. He was well known for his skills at the poker table, he could win with any two cards in his hand. Tony was a huge supporter of all 5 major Philadelphia sports teams. One of his finest moments was being at the 2008 Phillies NLCS playoff game and cheering for their comeback win.

Tony absolutely loved spending time with his nieces and nephew. He always put others first and loved his family and friends. He will truly be missed.

Funeral procession will depart Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Monday, August 21, 2017 at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church Chapel, 2427 Perkiomen Ave. Mount Penn at 10:00 am. Reverend Allen J. Hoffa, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Sunday, August 20, 2017, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:15-9:15 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Exeter Community Library 4569 Prestwick Drive, Reading, PA 19606 in memory of Anthony David Eaton. Online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.

I was sorry to hear of Tony's passing. I knew Tony from EJHS and then CCHS where we both graduated from. Tony always had a smile for everyone. My thoughts are with his friends and family.

Aunt Jane, Andy and Jeffrey, don't know if your remember me, I had the boys in Latchkey (Miss Kathy) I always enjoyed the boys so sorry to hear About Tony's passing, I ran into him at Wal-Mart a few years back and was nice to see him, I was impressed he remembered me he was working photo lab. He is with the Lord and his mama now and you guys have a guardian angel watching over all of you. God Bless and hugs to all of you. R.I.P. Tony

I didn't know Tony all that well....through poker. He was an excellent poker player...but a genuinely nice person. The times we played cards and sat near each other...I always enjoyed talking to him. Such a nice guy. Prayers and thoughts to his family and friends.
