Barbara A. Regar

Barbara A. (Hawk) Regar, 84, of St. Lawrence, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, in her home. She was the wife of David B. Regar with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Kathryn E. (Wetherhold) Hawk. Barbara was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School Class of 1956 and attended McCann School of Business. She was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church. Barbara was a past President of the Mt. Penn Jr Women's Club, and was a Domestic Goddess who loved the beach, especially Ocean City, NJ. Barbara has donated her brain to Penn Medical University Memory Center Support for Frontal Temporal Degeneration, or FTD as it is known as. This disease can mimic Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Dementia. Hopefully this will help someone in the future who is diagnosed with this disease. In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her sons, Richard C. Hawk husband of Karen, Reiffton; Ronald G. Hawk husband of Lisa, Casa Grande, AZ. Barbara is also survived by her grandchildren; Amanda, Sarah, Kathryn, and Rebecca and great-grandchildren; Jason, Sadie Ann, Isabella, and Wade. Barbara was predeceased by her brothers Charles and Donald Hawk, and her sister Miriam L. Nein. Visitation with family and friends will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Barbara requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 3670 Perkiomen Ave, Reading, PA 19606, or a charity of your choice.
