Betty Kalbach Obituary

Betty J. (Bond) Kalbach, 83, Leesport, died April 5, 2007, at 8:10 a.m. in Spruce Manor, West Reading, where she had resided three years.

Born Nov. 14, 1923, in West Leesport, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Edna (Witwer) Bond.

She was a 1941 graduate of the former Ontelaunee Normal School.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport.

Surviving are three daughters: Carol. M. (Kalbach), wife of Kent E. Reigel, Mohrsville; Joyce A. (Kalbach), wife of John Starzetski, Muhlenberg Township; and Nancy E. (Kalbach), wife of Terry Mitchell, Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include three sons: Jeffrey E. Kalbach, Bellingham, Wash.; John P. Kalbach, Columbia; and Michael J. Kalbach, Bethel.

Also surviving are two sisters, Catherine (Bond), widow of Robert Weller, Reading, and Nancy (Bond), wife of Joseph Killian, West Reading; and four brothers: Lewis Bond, Danville; Richard and Harold Bond, both of Leesport; and James Bond, in Colorado.

There are also 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four brothers: Robert, John, George and Donald; and a sister, Josephine (Bond) Hartman.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 102 Apple St., Leesport, PA 19533, with the Rev. John E. Houck officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends will be received Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Bean Funeral Home, Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
