Born in Reading, on April 30, 1990, he was the son of Holly L. (Webb), wife of James Lewis, of Temple and Joel L. Potteiger and his fiance, Sharon Klempke, of Wernersville.
He was a 2008 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School and graduated with honors in 2012 from Pennsylvania Technical College.
Brett was last employed as a diesel mechanic for Landis Trucking. He enjoyed hunting, working on cars, and was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies. In the summer of 2007, he won for the county and state, and placed 7th nationally in the "Skills U.S.A. Competition" in diesel technology.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Benjamin J. Potteiger, husband of Wendi Potteiger, and their daughter, Laelle, Myerstown; paternal grandfather, Lee F. Potteiger, widower of Anna M. Potteiger, Wernersville; maternal grandfather, Robert E. Webb, widower of Pearl E. Webb, Blandon; aunt, Susan E., wife of Judge Paul M. Yatron, Robesonia; aunt, Lynn A. Sosh, Columbus, OH; uncle, Bard R. Webb, husband of Brenda Webb, Zephyrhills, FL; uncle, Terry M. Webb, Kenhorst; aunt, Sharon M., wife of Lee Hirneisen, Cross Junction, VA; girlfriend, Leanna Patches, Richland; and many cousins.
Services will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Inc., Wernersville, with Rev. Rebecca W. Knox and Rev. Bruce G. Osterhout officiating. Interment at Laureldale Cemetery.
A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brett R. Potteiger Scholarship Fund, at the Berks County Career & Technical Center-East Campus, Attn: Diesel Technology Dept., 3307 Friedensburg Rd., Oley, PA 19547.
