Carmela Quell Obituary

Carmela "Millie" (Albert) Quell passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the age of 92. She was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on September 15, 1930 to the late Carmelo & Mary (Locarro) Albert and was the youngest of 8 children. Millie is survived by her children Barry (Christine) Quell of Shillington, Pam (Jerry) Coleman of Reading, Cindy (Josh) Jarsocrak of Fleetwood, and Randy Quell of Exeter; her grandchildren Angel (Michael), Richard, Missy (Will), Jennifer (Derek), Renee (John), Brian, Tiffany (Fabiano), Kelli, and Ashley; her great-grandchildren Bobbi, Leanne, Nicholas, Brady, Julia, Lindsay, Lauren, Carmella, Enzo, Harper, and Leo. In addition to her parents and siblings, Millie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard Quell in 2003; as well as her son, Robert of San Tan Valley, Arizona, and daughter-in-law, Dixie of Exeter. Millie enjoyed playing bingo, taking walks, spending time with her family, and Sunday fundays. She was famous for her Italian cookies and homemade spaghetti sauce. She was a long-time member of St. John's UCC church and a more recent member of Community UCC St Lawrence church. She lived an amazing life and was blessed to know her family loved her unconditionally. While Millie did spend some time during her younger years working at Howe's Tavern and Sammy Steaks, her most impactful role in life was that of a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. She meant the world to so many people and will be tremendously missed. Services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Gallman-Sonoski Funeral Home, 910 Chestnut St, Reading, PA 19602. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 with the service following at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
