Clara DiGuardi

Clara DiGuardi, 84, of Wyomissing, passed away peacefully in her daughter's Bethlehem residence on July 22, 2021 after a short illness. Born in Hershey,PA, she was the first American born child after her parents emigrated from Italy. Clara was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Anastasia (DeCarmine) DiBlasio and had four siblings: Loretta Correale (deceased), Josephine Marrese, Joseph DiBlasio and Norma Whisenant. Clara was the loving mother of seven children: Debra (Richard) Hoffmaster, Houston, TX; Wayne Powell (deceased); Craig (Cherie Biffel-Powell) Powell; West Lawn; Cynthia (Greg) Zulli, Bethlehem; Jennifer (Ernesto) Beltran, Houston, TX; Mark Powell, Wyomissing; and Brenda (Thomas) Fix, Allentown. Ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive her. Clara believed in hard work and family and instilled those beliefs in her loved ones. She also enjoyed sharing her Italian heritage through many family meals. She also enjoyed raising roses in her garden, reading, and visiting yard sales. She was employed by Reading Motor Inn, The Hitching Post, and Arner's Restaurant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 11:00 am at St Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church 2600 St. Alban's Dr., Sinking Spring. Burial will follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens on Route 222, Fleetwood, PA Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
