Clyde Snyder Obituary

On Saturday, October 16, 2021, the Lord called Clyde Richard Snyder home. Clyde, of Wyomissing, was born November 2, 1946 to Lloyd Alvin Snyder and Louise Kathryn (Mack) Snyder, both deceased. He was a 1964 Reading High School graduate. Following high school, Clyde served our country by enlisting in the US Navy. After his discharge, he continued his education at Albright College, majoring in accounting. In 1972 he was awarded the John A. Beard award at the Reading Chapter, National Assn. of Accountants (NAA), as most valuable member. He retired from Met Ed and was employed by Berkshire Investment Group as a Financial Advisor. He was very dedicated to his faith. Clyde was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church where he served many years as a Eucharistic minister and served on Church Counsel. He was a man of quiet strength, honest, loyal, and hardworking, giving selfless and deep love of family not only in words but his countless actions. In addition to his faith, he loved bowling and was always striving for a better score. If you ever wanted to see Clyde happy, just see him after a 200 average. He also enjoyed golf and playing a round with his buddies. Clyde was the loving husband of Carol Ann (Braun) Snyder. They would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on January 2, 2022. In addition to Carol, he is survived by his children: Christian W. Snyder (Deborah), Denver, PA, Anthony R. Snyder, New Ringgold, PA, Michael W. Stump (Dawn), Oley, PA, Marcy Ann Owens-Grunzig (Erik), Mohnton, PA, and Melanee L. Olenski (David), Zionsville, PA, and eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Clyde is also survived by his brother, Bruce P. Snyder, Hamburg, PA, his sister, Elaine, and sister-in-law, Jaqueline Snyder. Clyde is predeceased by a brother, Lloyd “Tick” A. Snyder, Jr. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 11AM at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3125 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the start of the service. To leave on online condolence, please visit www.StitzelFuneralHome.com.

Dear Carol and Family:
We are so very, very sorry to learn of our friends passing. Only a month away from retirement and this tragically happens. He was a great friend, husband, father, and professional! We will think of him often of the good times we had together, particularly on a cruise or when we hear the "Chicken Fry" song!

So sorry to hear of Clyde´s sudden passing. He was a great guy and was a good friend to mom and Glenn. He also was so good to the boys, especially having that Eagle Scout bond. Hopefully he can bowl and golf in heaven!

So very sorry for your loss. My husband and I were clients of Clyde, but when my husband passed 11 years ago, he helped me make some financially secure decisions. I will always be thankful for his help and friendship. May all of God´s blessings be on you and your family.

Oh my goodness I'm so sorry to hear this news. My love and prayers go out to all of you. I'm so sorry for your loss. I haven't seen Clyde in years but when he and Carol got married I was there and we really liked Clyde, he made Carol smile all the time and his humor was great he had such a good personality......I'll never forget him telling us how he busted us sneaking out. It was brilliant. Rest in peace Clyde, and God bless you Carol and the rest of the family, my prayers are with you.
