Dean Wehr Obituary

Dean Hunter Wehr, Sr. Dean Hunter Wehr, Sr., 75, of Hamburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in the residence of his daughter. He was the husband of Elsie Mae (Schearer) Wehr. Born in Allentown, Dean was the son of the late Earl A. and Francis M. (Kressly) Wehr. He was the owner and primary operator of Wehr & Sons Mobile Home Service and later worked for Utz Quality Foods. Dean enjoyed the great outdoors. He always looked forward to the fishing trips in Canada and traveling to the hunting cabin in Renovo PA, where many great memories were made with his family and close friends. In addition to his wife of 57 years Elsie, Dean is survived by his three children, Melony M. Weinman, Dean H. Wehr, Jr., both of Kutztown, and Christopher D. Wehr, of Richfield, OH, and their families. He will be reunited with his parents and his two dogs, Sissy and Cody, who recently predeceased him, along with other family members and friends. Services for Dean will be held privately by his family. The family requests contributions be made in Dean’s memory to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573 or online at donate.lls.org or to the funeral home, P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292 to help defray final expenses. Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., Kutztown, is in charge of arrangements. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.Ludwickfh.com.

I have so many loving memories of you from the hidden gifts in a box full of mush, my horse when I was 9, playing 3-13, starting our yearly fishing trips to Canada with my big bass on a Mickey Mouse rod, Easter egg hunts, Christmas gags, the ole lady bear at the cabin, campfires, snakes and of course our hospital stays. It was in the hospital but we had so much laughter in there they almost wanted us out... lol my greatest memory is sitting with you on the tree stand at the Blue Rocks tucked between your knees trying to stay warm and I shot my first buck. You grabbed me and hugged me so tightly with so much proudness and excitement between us. I couldn't tell who was more excited! You have been our family rock and taught us so much about ways of life. You made us strong and respectful. I miss you so much. I look at my phone to get my coffee ready for that 9am phone call so we have a cup together to enter our day. I'm lost without you right now as you were such a big part of my everyday life. Use your wings and help guide me and my empty heart. I know you will as you have never left me down before. I love you DaddyO!!!
