He was the husband of Sara A. (Turkett) Resh, who passed away Oct. 14, 1993.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Franklin L.E. Resh and Esther M. (Wayne) Resh.
Donald was employed by three generations of C.P. Rhoads and Sons Butcher Shop in Stonersville for 47 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Donald was a trustee and past assistant chief of the Stonersville Fire Company. He was also a 50-year member of the POS of A Washington Camp #230.
Survivors include two sons, Donald E. Resh Jr., husband of Carolyn, of Exeter, and Scott W. Resh, husband of Janet, of Exeter; two daughters, Debbie, wife of Tim Shaffer, of Exeter, and Diane E., wife of Michael Miller Sr., of Centerport; 11 grandsons, six great-grand-sons, three great-grand-daughters, one brother, Daniel P. Resh of Exeter; and one sister, Evelyn M. Resh of Exeter.
Visitation will be held at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., Mount Penn, on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. with services following at 8 p.m. Interment will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
