E. Elaine Landis

E. Elaine Landis, 87, of Richland, died Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Mark Myers Landis, Sr., to whom she would have been married 69 years on March 14, 2022. Born in Myerstown, PA on July 21, 1934, Elaine was delivered at home by the late Dr. George Flanagan. She was a daughter of the late Henry Hibshman and Rebecca (Shally) Hacker. Elaine was a member of Myerstown Church of the Brethren. She was employed as a cafeteria worker at the ELCO School District in the Jackson Elementary School, Myerstown, for 24 years. Elaine was also employed by Milson Mills in Lebanon, Layser’s Flowers in Myerstown, Raub’s Sub Stands at Roots and Green Dragon Markets, and was the owner/operator of a pretzel and cookie stand at Green Dragon Market for four years. Elaine is survived by a daughter, Karen K. Hamilton, of Myerstown; son, Mark M. Landis, Jr., husband of Tammy, of Richland; grandchildren: Becky Woodhouse wife of Shawn of Lebanon, Beth Wohlbruck wife of Jason, of Myerstown, and Brittany Schies of Myerstown, Sara Schwalm, wife of Jason, of Richland, Rachel McClure, wife of Lt. Matthew, of Womelsdorf, Daniel M., Landis husband of Ashly of Richland; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace E. Hacker Heisey, wife of Adam Sr.; brother, Henry H. Hacker, Jr. husband of Marcia, and a great-granddaughter, Makenna Marie Wohlbruck. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Myerstown Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Myerstown Church of the Brethren, preceded by a viewing beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Myerstown Church of the Brethren, 51 W. Stoever Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
