Dolores J. Gettle

Dolores J. Gettle, 85, of Lebanon, PA, died Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.

She was the wife of Joseph L. Gettle, who died August 31, 2019.

Born in Mt. Aetna, PA on October 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Marion (Houtz) Clay.

Dolores was a 1958 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School. She was employed as a typist at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, Annville, for 28 years. Dolores also worked at Richland Shoe Factory. She enjoyed singing hymns, reading the Bible, and watching Jimmy Swaggart and Bill Gaither.

Dolores is survived by a daughter, Sharon, wife of Greg Pierce, of Annville; brother, Gary Rufus Clay, of Mechanicsburg; nephews, Bill Stumpf, and Dan, husband of Kristy Gettle; cousin, Judy Ream; several other nieces and nephews; and a grand dog, Bo. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Stumpf.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 12 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a viewing beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Aetna Cemetery.
