Born in Gabelsville, PA, he was a son of the late Warren R. Werstler and the late Gertrude (Johnson) Werstler.
He worked for Boyertown Packaging for over 37 years as a department foreman.
Earl served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oley and a member of the Boyertown Lodge #741 F&AM.
Surviving in addition to his wife of over 55 years are one daughter, Cheryl L. Luft, wife of Todd of Boyertown; two grandsons, Derrick and Brandon Luft; one granddaughter, Hayleigh Luft; four brothers, Ernest Werstler of Gabelsville, Jacob Werstler of Gabelsville, Daniel Werstler of Gilbertsville and Paul Werstler of Reading; and four sisters,
Lillian Hartman of Boyertown, Gertrude Leh of Boyertown, Hilda Bortz of New Berlinville and Pauline Ford of Northumberland, PA.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Amy Shane and Helen Miller, and two
brothers, Ralph and Henry Werstler.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11:15 AM at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 325 Covered Bridge Road, Oley, PA. A masonic service will be held at 11 AM.
A viewing will be held from 9:30-11AM at the church Friday morning.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 325 Covered Bridge Road, Oley, PA 19547.

My prayers go out to the entire Werstler family. I never got to know Earl but as a third cousin to the family, I have known Paul Werstler for years. I hope the wound left behind in everyone's heart heals soon.
