Eugene Hilbert Obituary
Eugene R. Hilbert, 75, of Bethlehem, formerly of Oley, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Lehigh Valley
Hospital Hospice.
Born in Boyertown, he was the son of the late Arthur F. and Ethel M. (Rhoades) Hilbert.
Gene was a 1958 graduate of Boyertown HS. He went on to receive his Associates degree in Accounting from
Reading Business School in 1960.
Gene worked for MetEd/GPU for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He went on to work at Whitetail Golf Course in Bath as a starter for 20 years.
He enjoyed golfing and watching the Phillies and loved fantasy football.
Surviving are daughters: Beth Lorah, wife of Scott,
of Allentown; Anne Sheeler, wife of Jeff Sr., of Fleetwood; and Jill Howard, of Oley; and grandchildren: Jeffrey Sheeler Jr., Abbey Sheeler, Jamie Hartz, Ashley Lorah,
Erica Howard and Jessica Howard.
A memorial service will be Monday, Aug. 15, 1:30 p.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsville. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

I worked with Gene for many years @ GPU. Everyone liked and respected him. I hadn't seen him in quite a few years and was sad to see he had passed.

Condolences to the Hilbert Family. Gene was the most friendly, outgoing starter, marshall at Whitetail. Always enjoyed when he made his rounds and stopped to speak to our group.
