G. Faust Obituary

G. Robert Faust, 94, formerly of Wyomissing, died July 13 in the Highlands at Wyomissing, where he had resided since 2000.

He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Horan) Faust.

Born in Portland, Ore., he was a son of the late Henry John Faust and Irene (Hampton) Faust.

He worked for ABASCO Services Inc., New York City, as a consulting engineer from 1957 to 1967. He later worked for Gilbert Associates as a consulting engineer from 1967 to 1978 and later as an independent consultant from 1978 to 1987.

He was a registered professional engineer in New York, Pennsylvania and Colorado.

He received his BS in electrical engineering from Oregon State University in 1935; He received a BS in business from Johns Hopkins University in 1955.

He had more than 40 years of international experience in public utilities and industrial business, specializing in valuation and depreciation.

Mr. Faust appeared as an expert witness before 18 local, state and federal courts and commissions and completed international assignments in Canada, Great Britain, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Japan, Twiwan, Chile, Columbia, Venezuela, Panama and the Dominican Republic.

He also lectured and published extensively in the field.

He was a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers; managing committee, American Gas Association, Who's Who in Fiance and Industry and the board of directors of Iowa State University regulatory conference.

He was a lieutenant commander in the Navy during World War II.

He was an extensive creator of a crossword puzzle dictionary.

He was an avid golf and bridge player.

Surviving are a son, Richard D. Faust, husband of Julia Regan Faust, Dunn Loring, Va.; and three daughters: Barbara Farhner, partner of John LoBue, Walnut Creek, Calif.; Jan Faust Cremer, wife of Franz A. Cremer, Morgantown; and Nancy H. Neff, wife of Kent A. Neff, York.

Other survivors include his grandchildren: Karen Faust Crossley, Jeffrey Neff, Zachary Neff, Emilye Neff, Ellye Neff, Devon Cremer, Candi L. Cremer and Cina C. Haas; and his great-grandchildren: Dalton Tice, Rashel Hagmayer, Aaron Haas and Ryan Haas.

He was predeceased by a sister, Katherine (Faust) Hall; and two brothers, Richard H. Faust and Frank H. Faust.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

I would stop and try to visit with your Dad every time I was at the Highlands and it was always very pleasant even though I really don't think he knew who I was or my connection to you. He seemed to enjoy it though, I know I always did. Rick
