I grew up in Skippack living next door to the church. Rev Adam was such a great guy! I used to dog sit his dog, Kelf when he went on vacation, funny stories with that.
Rev Adam also confirmed me, married me and baptized my son. Many fond memories of him and our church.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He and I went to school together from Elementary School (Oakbrook) through high school. We were good friends and always competing for good grades throughout school. In fact I went to the senior prom with him. I last saw him at our 50th high school reunion in 2006. We lost contact through the years, but I am sure he will be missed by many. My condolences to his wife and his twin, Jean.

I grew up in Skippack and Rev. Adam was one of the best pastors that I've ever known... I lost my mother when I was young and he was with her at Montgomery Hospital as often as could to be with her and pray with her. He remembered me years later and came all the way from Reading to Exton to officiate my marriage me back in 1993. He holds a very special place in my heart. I am glad to know he's now an angel...

I had the pleasure of meeting Reverand Adam in June 2009 when he officiated at my daughter's wedding when he was in Reading. She married into a family who had a history with Reverand Adam when he was in the Skippack area. Reverand Adam welcomed us into his "family" and performed the baptism of our granddaughter in May 2011 when he was in Wernersville. I was priviledged to know him, even for a short time. May he rest in peace.

Ruth,
So sorry to of "the Rev's" passing. I think about you guys often, and was just thinking last week that I should stop in to see you the next time I visit my mom around the corner from you so that you can meet my wonderful wife and step-son.
I hope that it comforts you to know that he is now at peace, with God, and cancer-free.

Grief can be so difficult, but our special memories can help us cope. I feel blessed to have sung in St. Paul's choir a couple of times. Remembering Jim and Ruth today and always.

Jim was one of our best and dearest friends. We met about 42 years ago when he was at Barnesville and we were in Mahanoy City. We have many wonderful memories of him, the best being when he married his love, Ruth. We had wonderful conversations - liturgical and otherwise. He was a kind, peaceful, loving man. We will never forget him. Love and prayers go out to Ruth and his family. God bless.

Jim was very dear to my parents, Rev. George and Gertrude Carvell; and I remember some very spirit-filled gatherings with Jim and Ruth and other friends. Jim also graduated from Reading High School the same year as my brother George. Such connections will never be lost, but will remain dear to my heart. Blessings, love, and peace, Jim, and special thoughts and prayers for Ruth. -Rev. Joan Carvell Jones, Chaplain, Emmaus Homes, St. Charles, MO.

Our most sincere condolences go out to Ruth. It doesn't seem possible that almost 27 years have passed since Jim married us at Trinity U.C.C. in Skippack. He will be greatly missed.

News of Jim's death leaves me sad beyond words. He was a dear friend and fellow chaplain at Berks Heim, and I will greatly miss his smile and the joy that went everywhere with him.
