Jeannette F. DeLong

1939 - 2022

Mrs. Jeannette F. (Reinhart) DeLong, 82, of Fleetwood, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township. Born February 28, 1939 in Rockland Township, she was the daughter of the late Ernest F. and Grace A. (Guinther) Reinhart. Her husband of 60 years, George J. DeLong, passed away on July 26, 2021. Jeannette worked for many years as a secretary. She worked in the business office of Oley Valley and Fleetwood High Schools and also at M.W. Wood, Kutztown. Jeannette was a longtime member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Fleetwood, where she was very active in many church activities. She was also a Junior Girl Scout Leader at the church. Jeannette was a 1956 graduate of Oley Valley High School and truly enjoyed music, crafts and collecting dolls. Jeannette is survived by her two daughters, Lori M. (DeLong) Nester, wife of Ray A. Nester Jr., Fleetwood, and Dawn R. (DeLong) Mathews, wife of Mike Mathews, Saxton, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew R. Nester, Oley, Nichole R. (Nester) Martin, wife of Darren Martin, Pittsburgh, and Rebecca M. Keller, Washington, DC, her great-grandchildren, Finn C. Martin and Raven C. Martin, by her siblings, Nancy L. Klick, widow of Joseph Klick, Cheryl A. Spayd, wife of Robert Spayd, and Betty J. Price, wife of Richard Price, and by many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and her husband, George, Jeannette was preceded in death by her sisters, Debora Reinhart and Dolores Conrad, and by her brothers, Warren D. Reinhart and Steven Reinhart. Funeral Services for Jeannette will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, Fleetwood, PA. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the New Jerusalem Cemetery, Fleetwood.
