John Dietrich Obituary

John L.G. Dietrich Jr., 70, Leesport, died April 5, 2008, at 9:31 a.m. in Hershey Medical Center, where he had been a patient five days.

He was the husband of Marlis (Hertrampf) Dietrich.

Born in Leesport, he was a son of the late John L.G. Dietrich Sr. and Kathryn (Hottenstein) Dietrich.

He retired from Dana Corp. after 10 years of service and previously worked for 30 yearsfor General Battery, Reading.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

John had belonged to the Leesport Turkey Hill Club, Adamstown VFW and the NRA.

He also is survived by four daughters: Deborah Runyans, Temple; Sue Ann Geras, Muhlenberg Township; Lyn Verret, Shillington; and Tiffany Bachert, Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include four grandchildren: Mark Horrell, Brandy Miner, Bradley Verret and Dalton Bachert; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Dawson Miner.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Jacklyn Dietrich, in 2005; a sister, Donna (Dietrich) Hix; and three grandchildren: Harmony Karras, Jaryd Runyans and Michael Horrell.

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,

Dear Marlis,
It is not easy to lose someone you love, and have ben close to for many years. Know that Dad is watching over you ,and will comfort you during this sad time. This family has had to endure many passings , in the last 3 years, and it always so hard to have to say "good-bye", but it is only for now, and we all will be together one day.Thank-you for your phone call to me, as you know I am greiving over our Michael, and having the hardest time over my boy gone.{10-14-07} My prayers are with you in hope of a peacful tomorrow. May God, bless you and this family as we go through these sad days of loss.
