Mr. Fichthorn was the widower of Verna M. (Jones) Fichthorn, who passed away on May 2, 1991.
John was born in Reading, PA, on March 2, 1917, a son of the late E. Leon and Ethel M. (DeHart) Fichthorn.
Mr. Fichthorn was employed as a field service representative for the former Burrough's Corp. for thirty-five years, retiring in 1977.
He was a graduate of Mohnton High School. In his later years, John took an interest in ecology with various organizations.
Mr. Fichthorn is survived by two sons: Jonathan D., husband of Cyndi Fichthorn of Fairfax, Virginia, and James C., husband of Dianne M. Fichthorn, of Nokesville, VA; a daughter, Judith M., wife of Charles M. Newman, of Fairfax, Virginia, and one sister, Jane E., wife of Kenneth Cook, of Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville, PA.
John has seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fichthorn was predeceased by a brother, James C. Clouser.
John will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Memorial services and inurnment burial from St. John's Church Cemetery, Gibraltar, PA, will be scheduled at a later date.
